The best part of a list

I think the best part of a to-do list or a list of everything you are working on, is getting to cross things off. Especially if it's a cleaning list.....
In the past couple weeks, I have been able to finish quite a few things that I was working on. So, today I cross off my list....
Amy's birthday party
Alex's pageant registration and dress (it's so pretty, it will be here Tuesday)
Summer vacation plans - all booked and even I don't pack this early.
2010 Olympics - tickets and hotel are all reserved. Next is airfare.....
2007 & 2008 Vegas Scrapbooks. - time well spent while trying to get those lovely 2010 tickets.
Brownies - Action City is done and only 2 weeks til cookies come in. Woo Hoo.
Reorganizing - Alex's room is done. Kitchen is almost done. We won't talk about downstairs. lol

I think today I will start my Yellowstone scrapbook......

Disney Update

Today I booked our hotel for the Disney part of our stay. We have booked the All-Star Movies Resort with the dinning plan. While I wanted to stay somewhere a little nicer, I opted to stay with the original plan based on how much we would actually be in the rooms during our three nights.
Currently, we are planning to go to Epcot on Tuesday and the Magic Kingdom on Wednesday. In 12 days, I will be able to make our reservations for a couple of the restaurants we have planned. At Epcot we will be having lunch with..... You guessed it, Princess Jasmine and on Thursday, we are planning to dine at Chef Mickey's for Breakfast. Yum, I love breakfast food. So, I think the major things are now covered for our summer vacation 2009 and I will focus on the smaller details. I found an Epcot passport to make online. Each country has a page where kids can get a stamp and writing from. Someone had also made a first page to look just like a kids passport. It's pretty cute. I have updated it with all of Alex's info. All I need now for it is cardstock and contact paper. I can't wait to see it completed. :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

What a beautiful day to share with my sweetie girl. Since Bob is working this weekend, we decided to make today a Girl's day. We went to lunch at Panera and to the Budget to see Bolt. Cute movie. I was pleasantly surprised. And we made it home to see Daddy before he had to leave for work. What a good day. I do wish Bobber would have been able to come with us..... Next time. :)

Woo Hoo!!!

Last night, Bob and I booked a flight and hotel for a summer trip to Orlando. I am so excited to see my uncle and cousins. We are splitting our hotel stay and are planning to stay 4 nights closer to the fam and the other 3 nights closers to a certain Mouse and friends. I will be on the hunt for that certain Mouse as we did not see him in 2005. Alex is very excited to fly for the first time but is even more excited to see the new Pixie Hollow and find Jasmine. Little does she know, I have something in mind. I better make reservations for it soon though.
Well, that's all the time I have to blog right now. Alex's school is have a Valentine's dance tonight. All grades can attend and parents are required to accompany their child. Ttfn.

Olympic Ticket Update

Last Thursday, the 5th, Amy and I had the opportunity to purchase 2010 Vancouver tickets through an auction. It was set to start anytime after 10am est. Which meant be by the computer and not leave unless there's an emergency. So, At 9am our time, I had just dropped Alex off at school, went to the bathroom, brought in a snack and drink and of course an activity in case the wait was long. I had sent up the website on Internet explorer so it would not repeat the issues with AOL the previous night. And, then I could still email Amy without interfering with page loading.
So, 9:30, CoSport opened for Phase II of the ticket sales. You could tell the page was overloaded as it refused to load for an eternity. Finally, success. We were in! Only to have the next page stall and have to restart the web page. Ugh! Fortunately, we got a little farther in the process the next time and completely in on the third attempt.
Amy and I, of course, had a game plan. Any event available around the days of our Luge tickets on 2/15/2010. The only event we didn't want was hockey. Sounds simple enough. So, I went to curling for 2/16. Again, agonizing page loading times. But, not as bad as earlier at this point. While there was only one option left, I quickly put it in the "cart" and went to look at other options. Nothing else seemed to be available and I didn't want to surpass the 45 minute session allotment, (Although, I did wonder if they made exceptions for the pages not loading.) so I went to check out. A couple pages moved quite rapidly and then some wouldn't move at all. I came to the select payment option. Only one option available "Credit Card" and amazingly, the page would error out. I think I logged out, refreshed the page or went back to the beginning of the cart about 30 times. Just as I was about to slam my head on the desk.... it went forward. All Right, Here we go!!! I entered my information and double checked everything. Went to the next page, double checked credit card, expiration date, my billing address, and Amy's shipping address. All good. Next page, rechecked everything. This was the last page before submit. Almost there. I'm now ready to hit submit and do the happy dance. The next page took a total of 3 seconds to load. Amazing! Only to tell me my credit card had been denied. WHAT?!?!? With the denial, the tickets are placed back into the pool and you are logged off. OMG, you've got to be kidding me?! I didn't realize at first that I was logged off and by time I did, the only tickets left were.... You guessed it.... Hockey! And Women's Hockey at that. Oh, and for the following week. Now as I'm trying to email Amy to let her know some how I lost the tickets, AOL freezes and won't let me do anything. (I hate our computer right now, but that's an entirely different story.) So, I am beyond upset. I could understand if I did something wrong and it told me what. But, there was no explanation. I have spent 2 1/2 hours trying to get these tickets and lost them just like that. And then Amy called and made it all better by saying "If worse comes to worse and we can't get other tickets, we can always sell the others and go someplace warm." LOL I love her!
Well, that brings me to today. I got a call from Amy at 3:05. It's not normal for her to call during the day and especially not my cell phone while I'm at work. She had sent me an email at 1pm today. Usually, I am right on top of my email but today was working on a project and didn't get back to AOL. (Before you get exciting thinking it was a work related project, fear not.) I logged into AOL to see a forwarded email from CoSport... Confirming our ticket purchase made on 2/5 for tickets to Curling on 2/16/10!!!!! Woo Hoo! Now, I'm even more confused as to what happened but, at least I saw the email before I looked at my credit card online. Wouldn't that have been interesting!?!?!?
And, just in case you were wondering what project I worked on while waiting for the pages to load..... I finished my journaling for both my 2007 and 2008 Vegas scrapbooks. Woo Hoo! So, at least I made good use of my time. :)
Next on the Olympic journey - Hotel.

Current Projects

Every once in a while, I think it's fun to list the things I am working on. Usually, it's in the form of a checklist. Sometimes, it's a list of things that are stressing me. This time, it was just because I feel like my head is spinning with too many things to do. So, here's what I came up with.
Amy's Birthday Party
Brownies - normal meetings, Action City (tonight), skating and cookie sales
Alex's new pageant - Dress, casual wear, photos
Sheet rocking the living room
Painting - Kitchen, hallways, and living room
Flooring in the hallway
Reorganizing rooms - Kitchen, downstairs, Alex's room. And, getting ready for spring thrift sales.
Vancouver 2010 Olympics - Tickets and Hotel (wish us luck for the ticket auction tomorrow)
Chamber Ambassador stuff - thankfully there haven't been many ribbon cuttings or ground breakings lately.
Proposed 2009 vacation plans - trying to persuade Bobber to want to go and where. I'm between Disney and DC.
Looking for land to build a house
Aubrey's first birthday party
Disney binder for Denise
A family cookbook - I'm really excited about this one. It's for my mom's side of the family and I have some great recipes already.
Scrapbooks - Vegas 2007 and Vegas 2008. I'm almost done and ready to start Yellowstone 2008. Woo hoo! Maybe I should work on Alex's scrapbook, she's still 3 in hers.

And that doesn't include the everyday work stuff, school work or normal cleaning. And thankfully, we are done with the holidays and Alex's birthday. I am very fortunate that I am able to do some of these things at work. That helps with the head spinning. I also go back to one of my high school coaches telling me I was spreading myself too thin with all of my activites. Apparently, it's just the way I was made. So, anything I can help you with? LOL
