A Blah Day

It's grey outside and cold inside. With only one week until the first full day of school, I am trying to figure out what we can still accomplish this weekend. Fortunately, it's a long weekend. I'm crabby with work and don't want to be there today. But, I am looking forward to canning with Jan this weekend. I think that could be a good show. On our next episode of "Canning with Jan" we'll show you how to can peaches and salsa. Mmmmm. Although, Peach salsa does not sound appealing.
Ok, back on topic. I keep wanting to go to the MN fair, but don't really want to drive or spend the money. And, there's really nothing going on here this weekend. I suppose I could work on stuff of the thrift sale but, that's not exciting either. Although, the thought of a cleaned out garage is. Friday is always cleaning and laundry night. It's becoming a personal challenge to see how much I can accomplish before going to bed. Usually, I get all 6 loads of laundry done and at least the kitchen and livingroom, plus we grocery shop most Fridays when Bob is working. This weekend might be a tad different as I will be making Salsa Friday night. Saturdays I fold clothes and run all of our errands before putting the car away for the rest of the weekend. I love my lazy Sundays. And, I can't wait for the regular season of football to start. Go Colts! My favorite Sundays include watching football and working on my scrapbook. Alex usually does a craft or works on her own scrapbook. Soon we will start on our Christmas gifts and cards. That should be fun, too.
Ok, I'm a little less crabby with work now. Thinking about crafts and scrapbooks has help tremendously. I just don't know what I'll do with a full extra day this weekend. Oh, well. I'm sure I'll come up with something. Oh, wait!!! I don't work Tuesday either!!!!! Alex has back to school orientation on Tuesday so, I will be off all day. Yippee!!

Happy Birthday, Sprout Angel

Today our Sprouty-girl is 9. I can't believe we've had her this long already. To most, she is an anti-social, hissing big meanie. To us, she has been a loving, (mostly to Bob) source of entertainment since we have had her.
Some of her 9 year highlights have been:
Jumping into the Christmas tree.
Batting at Grandma Schultz's head.
Attacking anything red.
Moving to TN (and back).
Surviving a Screamin' Thing (Alex).
Living at Mom and Dad's (I know she misses living with the stinky dog. Her words).
Singing Christmas Songs.
Protecting the stairs from Denise.
Getting stuck in a candle holder.
Catching a bat in the basement. (she always was a good bug killer)
Sneaking outside to meet dad in the garage. (No more porch for you Missy.)
Max
Randomly leaving messages on people's voicemail.
Emailing her friends Kitty, Mittens and Thor.
Going to the vet.
Paris
Taking a nap before her nap that is her pre-bedtime nap.

She's accomplished many things so far. I would expect her to add more to this list in the near future. Especially the songs and random voicemails. She does like to sing!!! :)

Happy Birthday, Elizabeth!!

In my mind you should only be 2 or 3. You've grown into a beautiful young lady.
I hope you have a wonderful birthday. We can't wait to see you Saturday!!

Weird

It took days to add the picture of Sara for the birthday blog. And once this site finally let me, it wouldn't let me look at any of my other listed blogs. But, as soon as I deleted that one picture, everything works perfect again. What's up with that?!?!?!?

Other than that, not too much going on this week. I'm all caught up at work. Gosh, I love that place. I've become addicted to Facebook. (Thanks Sam) and things are coming right along for Bobber's party on Saturday. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and having several beverages. :)

I've been trying to post a picture for quite some time. Stupid 'Puter.
As soon as it will let me, there will be a dandy one here.

I hope your day was fabulous, like you!!!!

Yellowstone trip

I have added pictures but not captions or details yet. It may take some time. I am also working on a slide show with our favorite pictures from the trip. I tried not to duplicate pictures in the blog.

Minnesota

All packed! You don't even want to see the inside of the car!

Where we ate after the train. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! Yuck, Gross, Watered-down eggs and hot chocolate. The cheese in Alex's cheese Omelette wasn't even melted. Disgusting!!!!!

Silly Bobber!

Cosmos

Ok, This place was just freaky.

There was a weird gravitational pull towards the one corner of this building. Very freaky. It made me feel ill.

Alpine Slide

The 2000' slide was the one blemish on the whole trip. Alex went first and didn't quite grasp the whole "Don't go too fast" concept. She dumped out of the cart and scraped up her shoulder, elbow, finger, and knee. The worst was her finger and shoulder. Now we know why they have you fill out a release form. In retrospect, I should have gone first. Then she wouldn't have been able to go so fast. She said next time she won't go that fast. Poor thing. She had to wear bandages for most of the trip.

Wyoming

The visitor's center on I90 was in about 25 miles. Who puts a visitor's center in that far?!?! Anyway, Alex loved this flag.

Outside Subway in Sheridan, WY. The new Philly Cheesesteak sub is very good.

The view uptop of Big Horn Mountain. The temperature in the area went from 93 to 47 to 94 degrees. And gas at Burgess Junction was $4.699 per gallon. Yikes!!!

Cody, WY

The view behind our cabin in Cody, WY.

The Cody Nite Rodeo had several activities for kids. Face painting, rope tricks and sitting on a Bull named Hollywood.

Alex entertaining herself while I was doing laundry.

A-ha ha ha. We didn't find the elusive good food sign, but we did find this one.

Too hot!!!
