Brown Sugar Chicken and Marshmallow Brownies

I refer to Sundays and "new recipe Sundays". Because I am glued to the tv after noon during football season, I like to cook at least one meal before noon. Typically, I'll cook at least two for the upcoming week to reduce that "what's for dinner" madness when I walk in the door.  Since my husband works nights on a rotating schedule, it also helps him have something more than sandwiches all the time.
Sadly, I have no pictures of the chicken as it was devoured too quickly.  Here's the link for the recipe.....  http://www.food.com/recipe/easy-garlic-chicken-5478  Below are pictures of the brownies. In an effort to get my daughter off of all electronic devices for a short time, I asked her what we should bake. She loves brownies but I wanted to jazz them up a bit so here's our recipe.

Marshmallow Brownies
1 box Betty Crocker Milk Chocolate Brownie mix
2 eggs
3 tbsp water
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup miniture marshmallows
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
Mix together all ingredients, lightly spray 13x9 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 24-26 minutes.

Back again.....

I'm going to transition my blog from one of our family's journey to that of idea sharing and saving for future reference and the good of all man kind.  lol...... I am rarely serious and often sarcastic.... hmm... maybe this should be in my description......  I'll have to update that next.....

I'm looking forward to blogging some of my tips for Girl Scout trips as well as meetings in addition to recipe favorites, travel, give-a-ways, coupons and banking.  Happy reading.  I hope there'll be something of use for all.

Packer Party

Sunday, January 23rd, we gathered to cheer for the Packers as they played in the in NFC Championship game versus the Bears.  We had green and gold jell-o shots for each Packer's score.  Food consisted of barbecued ribs, cheesy potatoes, chicken soup, beer cheese soup, cheese and crackers, conqueso with chips, cheddar & sour cream chips, bars, margaritas and beer.  While it might have appeared our food theme was cheese, we actually called a Mexican barbecue.

Don't be surprised.
The Game itself was very exciting.  After the first  half, Mikki took off a layer, Dad changed shirts to the one above and I changed into an entirely different outfit.  After the Bears started to make it an interesting game, (not what we wanted), we all changed back to what we were wearing at the beginning of the game.  I even brought Sprout back out of our room.  We didn't want to take any chances.  :)

How many jell-o shots has he had?
Lots of green in the room that day..... In attendance were: Mikki, Tony, Bob, Troy, Mom and Krista.
Not pictured: Dad, Aubrey, Mikayla, Alex, Elizabeth and Elijah

I can't wait til the Superbowl.  Hopefully, the whole group can make it again.  I think several of us have taken off the Monday after.
And, with this, my blog may not include everything that we have been up to the last couple of months, but it is up to date with pictures.  I'll post more after the Superbowl.  Go Packers!!!

Alex's 10th Birthday

My beautiful baby girl.
Her Titanic cake.  Each guest received a "Boarding Pass" when they arrived.  And found out if they survived after Alex opened gifts.  Sorry boys, but only one of them survived.
Sparkler numbers.  I little more than Alex was expecting.

We had a picture like this taken just after we brought Alex home from the hospital.  I was holding Alex  because Sprout was over my weight restrictions.
On the 26th at Cancun.  Some people shy away from getting the whipped cream in their face.  Not this girl!

Christmas with the girls

Originally, April, Amy, Mikki and I had planned to go to Turtle Lake for New Year's Eve.  However, with bad weather on the horizon, we opted to get together a few days earlier.  I was so excited everyone was able to come.  Denise and Scott were staying at the Metropolis for a couple of days so I invited them to join our posse.
